Warm Beach Woodworking

Last week, I had the honor of photographing two pieces made by Clary Reinsma of Warm Beach Woodworking.  He is a great artist and cabinet maker and it is evident in his work.  The Torah cabinet is cherry wood with Star of David inlays and a custom made stand for the Torah scrolls it holds within.

The bunk beds are fashioned after a castle.  My daughter saw these pictures and wants a bed made my Mr. Clary too!  The special thing about these bunk beds is that they are in a house that's made of brick and looks a little like a castle itself.  There's even a secret compartment at the top of one of the posts.  Clary is a versatile craftsman and it shows in these pieces.

Showers of Blessings

It seemed so fitting to do a baby shower centered around blessings for Abby's little baby.  When my children were very young, I had the privilege of praying regularly with Abby and a few other ladies about the deepest concerns and joys of our hearts.

When I had my last two children, my dear friend Josie threw a baby blessing shower for me.  It is what a baby shower should be, I think.  There are the adorable decorations, goodies and gifts, but most importantly, there is prayer.  Each person selects a card that has a specific character attribute or aspect of baby's life that they would like to pray for, then writes their name on the card (which also has a relevant scripture for mama to read later).  This way, during late nights up with the baby, mama can read over the things people prayed for her baby, then even pray some more.

We gathered around Abby and prayed many meaningful and special prayers for Abby, her husband and especially for her baby, who's due to arrive any time now.  I know each person there was blessed just as much by praying these blessings for baby.  It is a good reminder to pray for the deep and important things for children, even while they are yet unborn.  It puts us in a good frame of mind for supporting them as they grow so quickly.  I know there are many people who are so very eager  to meet that sweet little baby and support her as she grows into a young lady.
